Roy Hinton

Roy Hinton is currently Associate Dean of Executive Programs and Director of the Executive MBA program at George Mason University, School of Management. He has developed close working relationships with China’s Leading Universities and Industries. Prior to the GMU , he was Managing Director of Exquiry, LLC, a leadership and performance development firm and founded Burgundy Group, Inc. in 1985 as management consulting firm specializing in the design and development of business simulations and executive education, help created over fifty business simulations in a wide range of industries including manufacturing, insurance, banking, hospitality & tourism, healthcare, government and not-for-profit organizations. He was also Director of Executive Education at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University from 1980 to 1985. Roy has worked with many leading organizations worldwide. He has written several books pertaining to business simulations. Roy received his Ph.D. in Management from Northwestern University in 1981 and his MBA from Pepperdine University in 1976.
Erin Ennis

Erin Ennis has been Vice President of the US-China Business Council (USCBC) since May 2005. In that position, she directs USCBC’s government affairs and advocacy work for member companies and oversees USCBC’s Business Advisory Services. Prior to joining USCBC Ms. Ennis worked at Kissinger McLarty Associates where she implemented strategies for international business clients on proprietary trade matters. Ms. Ennis has also held positions in the US Government, including former U.S. Senator John Breaux’s office and the Office of the US Trade Representative. A native of Louisiana, Ms. Ennis has a BA from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and a Masters in International Affairs from Catholic University in Washington, DC.
Gary G. Pan

Gary G. Pan is President and CEO of Panacea Consulting, Inc. whose core competencies support telecommunications, systems development, system administration and operations, and information management. Mr. Pan's professional experience combines management consulting with advanced technical solutions. Prior to 1990, Mr. Pan led an international, government, and commercial enterprise that provided support in the areas of information systems, process reengineering, trade policies, venture-capital opportunities, and publishing. With the U.S. Department of Commerce Trade Commissions, Mr. Pan has traveled to Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Singapore, and Malaysia to develop joint-venture opportunities and discuss trade policies. Mr. Pan is a member of the Board of the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), the head of its Entrepreneur Center which focuses on mentoring a generation of new technology entrepreneurs. Mr. Pan is also on the Board of the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts and the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation (MSF) and represents the Greater Washington Board of Trade on the Management Team of MetroTech, a regional workforce development initiative that assists unemployed community members migrate to technology positions through employer-driven, customized training partnerships.
Michael Sacharski

Michael Sacharski is in his 24th year of living and working in China. In 1999, he founded Pacific Enterprise Capital and serves as president, CEO, company board of managers member and investment committee member. Mr. Sacharski works in the company’s Beijing office where he leads deal flow development, due diligence matters and post-funding portfolio company management. Prior to 1999, From 1995 to 1998 Mr. Sacharski was chief representative of GTE China, responsible for GTE’s business development strategy. Before 1995, Mr. Sacharski was Asia-Pacific director of ComStream Corporation, a leading provider of digital satellite communication networks. Mr. Sacharski closed major sales with China’s Ministry of Radio, Film and TV, the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the China Commodities Exchange as well as several other Chinese customers. Mr. Sacharski is a founding board member of the United States Information Technology Office (Beijing), an alliance of American high-tech industry associations whose members are doing business in China. He has provided China perspective to U.S. government officials including industry-opening recommendations to the U. S Trade Representative team that negotiated the World Trade Organization (WTO) agreement with China.
George S. Pan

George Pan , Chairman of Quantitative Technology Corporation (QTC)is the principal organizer of this 2007 China Seminar and Workshops. During the past 20 years, he provided the consulting services to more than 100 Government and Industry clients such as China’s State Council (Family Planning Forecasting Models), Shanghai (Citywide Census Study 2006-2010), 2004 Secondary City Trade and Investment Conferences for China’s 40 cities in 4 Eastern Provinces (Anhui, Shantung, Henan, Jiangsu), Shenzhen Development Bank, Standard Chartered Bank American Express , Avon Cosmetics, NTT, NEC, GM, Ford, Toyota, McDonald, KFC, 7-Eleven etc from US, Japan and Taiwan. Prior to that, he served as Chairman of Chinese Economic Development Council (USA) for eight years and held Executive Positions at IBM and GE . He attended the University of Illinois (BSEE), Syracuse University (MSEE, Ph.D. Program), and Harvard Business School (Small Business Development Program).
Randall Reade

Randall Reade is President of Zipzone Ltd., a company which exports software to Asia, including Japan, Taiwan and China. Zipzone also helps companies find outsourcing for IT projects throughout Asia, including China, India, The Philippines, and Russia, as well as Canada. Mr. Reade is currently the Chairman of the International Committee for the Northern Virginia Technology Association, and in this capacity he has been asked to deliver speeches about trade issues with China. Additionally, Mr. Reade has helped companies in Russia develop their technology businesses and lectured on how regions can develop their technology sectors. Mr. Reade is an attorney, and previously he had a position of Attorney-Advisor for the US Department of Labor. He graduated from the Case Western Reserve Law School, where he served as an Editor on the Law Review, and received his BA from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
H. Dawn Li

Dawn Li is the President of Data and Analytic Solutions, Inc. (DAS), an 8(a) certified and GSA rated Information Technology consulting firm in Greater Washington DC, whose core competencies are data and analytic solutions for evidence-based support in decision making, quality health care, performance management, fraud detection, and business intelligence. Dawn Li has about 15 years in project and contract management, database and web technical support, and customer service. She is the Chair of China Subcommittee under International Committee at Northern Virginia Technology Council. She advises and coordinates efforts in connecting US and China in business including software development outsourcing. She has taught at George Washington University, Peking University in China, and the University of Liverpool in England. She holds Ph.D. in American Literature focusing on cross-cultural studies and M.S. in Management Information Systems from George Washington University, M.A. and B.A. from Peking and Wuhan University in China. She is honored as a Woman of Excellence in 2007 by National Association of Professional and Executive Women.
Robert Nakamoto

Chairman and principal owner of Base Technologies Inc., McLean, VA a 20 year old Information Technology company. Prior to that he was Director of Corporate System, MCI, and Deputy Commissioner for Planning in Texas (Honorary Texas Citizen), and Director for Planning over Medicare and Medicaid Programs in the Federal Government. Previously, he was a manager of Data Processing for the Sate of California. He has served on Presidential Task Force for both parties. He was born in California and graduated from California State University and he is a Veteran of the Korean War.
Gary McQuown

Gary McQuown is a Senior Consultant at Data and Analytic Solutions, Inc (DAS) of Greater Washington DC, an 8(a) certified and GSA rated Information Technology consulting firm. As a software programmer and developer, Mr. McQuown provides data related solutions in the areas of risk and credit analytics, fraud detection, automated processing, business intelligence, and revenue optimization. He specializes in process automation for statistical analysis, warehousing and quality control. With 17 years of professional experience serving the financial, social sciences and governmental sectors, he has a wide range of skills and knowledge. Depending on the need of the client, he implements advanced macros to augment the BI platform and SI products such as Strategic Performance Management and Enterprise Miner, or automates warehousing and reporting processes with more "Basic" SI and non SI products. Patty Del Pozo

Patty Del Pozo is the ITS Specialist for the International Business Development Program. In this capacity, she manages international outreach activities including association matchmaking services, trade missions, reverse trade missions, technical symposia and ITS alliances worldwide, especially in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. She manages the International Benefit Cost Working Group, a 500 member group that concentrates on ITS Evaluation Projects around the world; in this capacity Patty is the liaison for ITS America members, manages membership and serves as the events coordinator for the working group. As a program specialist, Patty disseminates program information, organizes visits by foreign delegations, responds to market/business information requests, helps on the preparation of country and market analyses, and identifies sources of funding for international programs. She previously worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington D.C., at George Mason University in Virginia, and in various non-governmental organizations and companies in Ecuador.
Sergei Andronikov

Associate Professor at GMU, Sergei Andronikov has a strong background in Environmental Management, GeoInformation Technology: GIS, GPS, Digital Cartography, Remote Sensing, Spatial Modeling, and General Business and Management. After earning a Doctorate Degree in Environmental Management and Executive MBA, Mr. Andronikov worked in different geographic regions as European Russia, the Urals, Northern and Central Siberia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenia, Baltic States, Georgia and the Caucasus, Laos and Cambodia, The Netherlands, Great Britain, and the United States for more than 20 years. Mr. Andronikov has received a prestigious "Special Achievement in GIS" ESRI award as well as "Academic Excellence and Quality Award" from Tennessee Board of Regents and “Key Technical Contributor” award for DARPA Challenge.
Karen Hallows

Karen Hallows is an Assistant Professor of Finance in the School of Management at George Mason University, and the former Director of the executive MBA Program. She is currently in China interviewing local and US firms with a group of 30 professors and graduate students. She will report her findings at our conference. Prior to GMU, She has also taught at American University, Averett College, George Washington University, Florida Institute of Technology, the University of Missouri, and the University of Nebraska. She received a Celebration of Learning grant in 1998-99 to conduct a WebCT on-line course in financial management at George Mason University. She has written and published several articles and book chapters dealing with economic education and the financing of education. Professor Hallows holds a Ph.D. in economics and finance from the University of Nebraska and a Master's Degree in economics from Purdue University.

Susan Perng Pan
Ms. Pan is a partner in the Washington D.C. office of

the firm’s China Practice Group. She specializes in patent portfolio
building for large and small companies,
including patent preparation, prosecution and appeals.
She also counsels clients on non-infringement and invalidity matters
and patent management strategies.

Ronald M. Griffin
Ronald M. Griffin, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Panacea Consulting, Inc. has significant international experience within the Far East and European Mainland. His experience spans 35 years of management, international business development, product delivery, and service and support. His more recent international efforts have been mainland China focused in the areas of data management in the banking sector, electrical power development, and environmental remediation.
Wenzhao (Connie) Wang

Wenzhao “Connie” Wang is an attorney at Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP, a premier international law firm with 1500 attorneys and 15 offices world-wide. Combining with her 13-year diplomatic experience in the capacities of the Press Officer for the Chinese President Jiang Zemin during his visit overseas and diplomat at the Chinese Mission to the United Nations in New York, Ms. Wang provides counseling to companies conducting business in China as well as those involved in investment and trade in both China and the U.S. in the areas of government relations, regulatory solutions, general corporate, outsourcing and market entry in both U.S. and China. Ms. Wang also serves as Legal Counsel for China Market Association, a nationwide association helping companies with marketing in China. Ms. Wang is the recipient of "Women to Watch Award" -- Women in Business 2006 by Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.
Janet Yang

Janet Yang joined Novak Biddle Venture Partners in 2006. Trained in electrical engineering from Stanford University, Janet started her investment career on Wall Street as a sell-side equity research analyst for Merrill Lynch and later Salomon Smith Barney, where she was a top-ranked analyst in her sector according to fund managers' surveys, and helped raised over $800 million for various corporations. Prior to Novak Biddle, Janet worked closely with William H. Draper, III in San Francisco-based venture capital firm, Draper Richards, focusing on early-stage technology investments in the United States and India. Janet brings substantial international experience, as well as operating experience, to Novak Biddle. She has over 10 years of work experience in Asia, in particular, the Greater China region. While in Asia, Janet held various senior executive positions at PCCW, the largest telecommunications company in Hong Kong, reporting to Chairman and CEO Richard Li. Her experience included being the CFO of an IT outsourcing company in partnership with China Telecom and PCCW. Janet is multi-lingual, fluent in Chinese and had studied Japanese and French. She has lived and worked in New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing.
